Answer.  Businesses can prioritize their client base in a variety of ways.  The type of product or service will help determine the most effective way to group your customers while remebering to keep the "best customers" at the top.  If your business depends heavily on referrals then a program that includes mulitple contacts to your best referral customers would be effective.  Other ways to priortize would be by business volume, frequency of purchases, referrals, etc.  Companies that have easy access to birthdates and account anniversaries often keep in touch with clients by remembering  these milestones.   And don't forget to acknowledge those "new accounts" with a personal thank you!
